4G LTE Performance and SIM Compatibility

This portable WiFi router with SIM slot accepts cards from Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, and Teletalk without operator locks. The modem function delivers 150Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink on 4G LTE networks, enough for HD video streaming on multiple devices. The OLAX Smart Connection feature automatically selects the strongest available band, and the LTE band lock lets you manually choose specific frequencies when needed in areas with network congestion.

Battery Life and Portable Design

The 4000mAh battery runs the AX9 Pro for 8 hours under typical use with 3-5 connected devices. This makes the router practical for outdoor events, vehicle travel, temporary office setups, or as backup internet during load shedding. The battery charges via USB, and the router continues operating while plugged in. Two external antennas fold flat for transport and extend for better signal capture in low-coverage zones.

WiFi Coverage and Device Management

The 2.4GHz WiFi operates on 802.11ac standard with backward compatibility for older devices. The 300Mbps rate divides across 10 connected devices, providing approximately 30Mbps per device when all slots are active. WPS push-button pairing simplifies connection for devices without screens. The router broadcasts a single SSID and supports WPA3-Personal encryption for modern devices alongside WPA2-PSK for compatibility with older phones and laptops.

Wired Network and Advanced Functions

Four gigabit LAN ports and one WAN port handle wired connections at 10/100/1000Mbps. Connect the WAN port to a DSL modem or fiber ONT to use the AX9 Pro as a traditional home router with WiFi. The QoS function prioritizes bandwidth for video calls or gaming, while the built-in firewall blocks unsolicited incoming connections. VoIP support allows SIP-based internet telephony when configured with compatible services.

Who Should Buy the OLAX AX9 Pro Router

Frequent travelers and field workers benefit from the 8-hour battery and SIM support for internet access in vehicles, client sites, or outdoor locations without fixed broadband. Small business owners use the device as backup connectivity during fiber outages or to provide temporary WiFi at pop-up shops and exhibition booths. Students in shared housing insert a personal data SIM to create private WiFi for 3-4 roommates without relying on a landlord’s connection.

Things to Check Before You Buy

The router operates only on 2.4GHz WiFi, not 5GHz, which may cause congestion in apartment buildings with many networks. The 10-device limit is a hard cap; the 11th device will not connect until another disconnects. The 300Mbps WiFi speed is the theoretical maximum; actual speeds depend on device capabilities and distance from the router.

Check that your SIM plan allows hotspot or tethering; some operators restrict data sharing. The WAN port requires manual configuration if you connect it to another modem. The 8-hour battery estimate assumes moderate use; heavy video streaming or maximum device load reduces runtime.
